This pH measurement kit allows the determination of pH over a very wide range of pH values ​​between 4.0 and 8.5. 

The method used is colorimetric and the comparison of the color obtained from the chemical reaction is simple thanks to the specific colorimetric scale, which reports the corresponding concentration values. 

The pH value provides a measure of the acidity/alkalinity of an aqueous solution and is proportional to the concentration of hydrogen ions. At neutral pH (= 7) water is made up of OH- and H+ ions in equal quantities.
Adding an acid or a base to a neutral solution causes an increase in the concentration of H+ or OH- ions, respectively.
Below the pH value 7 we speak of acidity of the solution, while above it we speak of alkalinity (or basicity).

Strong acids will have pH values ​​between 1 and 3, weak acids between 4 and 6 pH, weak basics between 8 and 10 pH and finally strong basics between 11 and 13 pH.
